If there are any questions you need to ask about anything I would encourage you to get in touch with me. You can email me here or ring me to talk to or text me on 07966 390857. I’ll do my best to answer any questions you have quickly. For the quickest response, text me. The most commonly asked questions are listed below.
How much do you charge?
Individual therapy – £50 for a fifty minute session.
Couples therapy – £60 for a one hour session.
Where are you located?
I see clients in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport. Click here for directions
Do you have evening appointments?
I do see clients in the evening. These appointment slots get booked up fast so I use a waiting list system at my busiest times. Contact me to find out what availability I currently have.
How long will I need to come and see you?
Individuals – For as long as it takes for you to achieve the goals you set. This may be short term symptomatic relief or deeper long term work to make profound and lasting change in your life. You get to choose, I’ll be there to guide you and together we will get there.
Couples – Couples work tends to be more short term. I conduct couples therapy very differently to individual therapy. Your relationship is the client and my aim is to teach you to communicate effectively, resolve arguments and learn to listen to each other. There’s not much point in doing this just for one hour a week with me and so I expect you to do a lot of the work at home together (I’ll give you LOTS of homework!). The new framework for communication you practise with me will allow you to do this without falling into the same old arguments (you won’t get it right all the time but life’s not perfect so that’s OK). The sessions will be challenging and you will also find doing things at home differently tough too, but we will look at how to manage the anxiety caused by doing things differently in the sessions, and nothing that’s worth doing is achieved without effort, right?
How often will I need to come and see you?
Once a week. This gives the best continuity and leads to better progress. If you come less then we spend the first ten minutes recapping what happened when we last met and the process slows down. I take therapy seriously and expect my clients to too. There may be weeks when you can’t make it due to work commitments or holidays and that of course is fine, but the commitment to come once a week needs to be in place if you really want to see change in your life.
I would much prefer to work with a woman, any suggestions as to who I could see?
Check out my colleague Geraldine Osowska at Stockport Psychotherapy. She is friendly, approachable and there to help.
