Hi Davide
Thanks for your comment. Yep - awareness is all important in the process. I guess it is at the heart of the therapeutic process too.

Hi Judith. I think the video is fab too. It moves me every time I watch it. I love the idea of your children growing in the space between you and your partner. It's something I think about alot when working with couples. I will chack out the link you mentioned - thanks for that :)

Hi Gill
I'm pleased this post has been useful to you. As your essay progresses I would love you to come back to the blog and write a bit about what you have learnt on passivity - your take on it would be interesting to readers of this post. Fancy doing that?

Hi Gill
Thankyou very much for commenting - us blogging types LOVE that! Passivity is of major importance in therapy and it has taken me a while to catch on to just how significant it is. Learning more about it has also meant that I can spot my own passive behaviours more readily too. Keep reading and keep commenting!

Hi Gearoil
Thanks for your comment. Sometimes us therapists don't explain what we are doing. This is because it is not useful to the process. Other times I find an explanation really helps. And you're right, we don't get things right all the time because we are human too :)

Now I know what my therapist is doing, thank you. Its a shame she hasnt explained that to me. Why do Psychotherapists assume so much?
